ERGONOMICS

austere but full
Audio Technica is not known for the design of its products and it is not its few models covered in faux fur that will change the game. Point fur so on ANC9 which advocates matte black. At least, that is discrete. Unfortunately, just like its predecessors, and its direct competitor from Bose, the Japanese helmet seems to use medium quality materials when you look closely. Nevertheless, construction seems more robust than the QuietConfort 15 , and therefore more sustainable over time. As for accessories, the luxury: jack adapter, airplane adapter, standard Cable speakerphone and semi case rigid in which ranks the headphones flat - the capsules are mounted on ball - nothing is missing.
Comfort, is overall very good, even if the weight distribution of the QC15 and extremely soft ear foams still leave him some room for improvement. . No worries at least for wearing the helmet for several hours The introduction of the battery is done via a hatch located in the right atrium while the power buttons and selection of noise reduction mode - we will come back - are positioned on the outside of the right atrium.

reductions choice
This is the great novelty of the model 9: you can choose between several noise reduction modes. The idea is simple: according to the environment in which the headset is used, noise disturbances are not the same and therefore should adapt parameters noise canceling accordingly. At each change of mode, one, two or three beeps are heard in the headphones while outside, the power LED will alternate between blue, red and green. The first and last modes are quite similar in the filtered frequency bands but not in amount. Blue fashion ad 95% noise reduction at 200 Hz against 85% for green. Red is announced 95% but 300 Hz this time. Blue mode is intended for use in transport (plane, train ...), red for a noisy environment (PC ventilation, air conditioning ...), and green for a relatively quiet environment (library, home. ..). the passive isolation is already very good and the three modes rather effective. Blue is clearly the most impressive and will survive a long flight without problem. The red drops also very effectively the typical background noise of a workplace for example. Be careful with risk of not hearing the phone ringing! The last mode, green, may seem trivial but it makes it a real interest: it is forgotten. It greatly reduces the feeling of emptiness and continuous breath, systematic and typical CN helmets. In a place where the sound volume is already limited basic, it's really nice, especially when allowed to rotate freely without headphones broadcast audio signal. This should not obscure the sound reproduction of the helmet. While the Japanese manufacturer we have more used to a focus on the high end of its stereo headphones, the V-sign ANC9, and so quite pronounced.
